Not me, but Christ

I fell in love with Christ not because I had all I need and He was extra. What made me love Christ was that He chose me. He picked me. He wanted me. When I was at my darkest, my lowest, when there was absolutely nothing I could do to fix myself, He said,” I want her, I choose her.” All my flaws, sins and regrets. All of me.

As Christians we are the Bride of Christ. We are sinful, shameful, and not worthy to be looked upon by Him. BUT against all rational thoughts, the startlingly, wonderful, beautiful sound of grace begins to magnificently resound. Because Jesus, the groom, sees us, the Bride, and all of our flaws, and still declares us  Beautiful.

We are righteous. Spotless. Justified. Redeemed. Loved. This is the essence of the Gospel.

As Christians, children of God, the Bride of Christ we NEED to know we are not any better or more moral than those who do not know Christ.

I love Christ not because “I can” but because “Christ did”.
